About the project

Snapshot Brighton is an open submission, photographic record of an amazing city.

You can be part of it - submit your photos of Brighton and Brighton life and appear on our interactive map.

History

The project started at the end of June 2010 and was ran as a competition where the public rated photos until November 2010.

This was timed to coincide with the Brighton Photo Biennial and Brighton Photo Fringe

The prizes were awarded on the 10th November at Add The Colour Cafe in Brighton

It has been created by Peter Pavement and is sponsored by Surface Impression Ltd, Colourstream and One Digital

Terms of submission and usage

  • Only submit images that you own
  • Copyright remains yours, but you grant us the right to use your photo/image for the non-commercial purposes of the Snapshot Brighton project. This includes this website, a mobile phone interface, leaflets and gallery installations.
  • Our promotional material will never focus on one particular image, we will always show photos in a group setting
  • We will always seek your permission first before using your photographs for any other purpose
  • Photos were displayed on the site anonymously until rating was closed. This helped to reduce bias in judging.
  • Once the competition closed, credits were displayed
  • We reserve the right to remove images at any time for any reason
